For leadership

Grow the group without growing head office

The cost of opening outlet twelve is rarely the fit-out. It is the person you have to hire at head office to keep twelve outlets consistent.

What actually limits a group

01

Standards do not travel

The recipe that works in the flagship arrives at the third outlet as an approximation, and the food cost difference between them is nobody’s specific responsibility.

02

Head office grows with outlet count

If consolidating numbers is manual, then every new outlet adds work at the centre. That is a tax on growth.

03

The central kitchen is a black box

It is the largest single lever on group food cost and usually the least measured part of the business.

04

Suppliers will not adopt your software

Every network story starts with persuading your suppliers to create accounts. Most of them will not.

What changes

Structural answers rather than better reporting.

One definition, inherited everywhere

A company recipe is inherited by every outlet automatically. Where an outlet genuinely differs it overrides, and where it buys in instead it declares that. Consistency is the default rather than an instruction.

The central kitchen becomes measurable

Production plans, real batches, theoretical against actual consumption per run, and cost exploded down the recipe tree to raw ingredients. The largest lever in the group becomes a number you can manage.

Consolidation is not manual work

Outlets report into one ledger, in one base currency, with each document carrying the rate it was written at. Opening an outlet adds a location, not a monthly reconciliation task.

Suppliers do not need an account

A purchase order can be shared as a link. The supplier opens the document and reads it, with no sign-up and no software. If they later register, the trading history you already recorded with them carries across intact.

Roles instead of trust

Permissions are explicit, scoped per company, and cannot be escalated by the person managing them. Delegation stops depending on who you personally trust.

The question worth asking a vendor

Not "what does it report". Ask what the system refuses to do, and what happens to last month’s figures when someone makes a mistake tonight.

Start with the number

The estimate takes ninety seconds and tells you whether this conversation is worth having at all.
